HICKORY CHAIR Beneath the beautiful fabric of each Hickory Chair Sofa, Loveseat, Chair, and Ottoman is a frame constructed of kiln-dried wood that has been carved and shaped to form the elegant design. The frame also features triple dowling and corner blocks that enforce the structural integrity of the shape. The finished upholstered look of the arms and wings of our furniture comes from the shaped wooden frame and not from foam or cotton which with use packs, flattens, and loses shape. Many of Hickory Chair's fine hardwood frames are based on classic designs which date to 1764. Coils in Hickory Chair's upholstered furniture seats are hand tied eight times to provide secure stability for decades. Also note Hickory Chair constructs the back coil rows of their seats with a heavier gauge coil than the front and middle rows since a person's weight is concentrated primarily on these two back rows of coils. back to Browse
