Victoria & Richard MacKenzie-Childs introduce a new line - Victoria & Richard. The husband and wife team are stewards of bringing to the world, the age old terra cotta majolica with all the genuine characteristics of true hand made majolica -- glaze "drips;" finger imprints, crackles in the glaze; pin holes from firings and pieces of grit from the clay. This chosen form in which Victoria and Richard design, with hand-made, hand-painted, hand-glazed works, are true works of art.
Victoria and Richard have been artists since childhood and each have impressive backgrounds in fine and decorative art. Victoria received her Bachelor of Fine Arts from Indiana University and continued her studies at Harvard Radcliff and Boston Museum of Fine Art. While teaching at Massachusetts College of Art in Boston, Victoria met and married Richard. Richard received a Bachelor of Fine Arts at Massachusetts College of Art. Victoria and Richard both received Masters of Fine Arts at Alfred University.
